STEP. Texas- The Clint Independent School District, in partnership with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, will conduct a full-scale active shooter exercise at Horizon High School.
The large-scale exercise is a joint effort and includes participation from the Horizon Police Department, Border Regional Council (Border RAC), Border Patrol, Office of Emergency Management and the Horizon Fire Department.
They reported that multiple first aid vehicles, such as fire trucks, ambulances, and patrol units, will arrive at Horizon High School as part of the exercise.
“We ask that parents and the community not attempt to visit the school or call the campus during the exercise. Simulated shooting will be used; no live ammunition will be used at any time. All security measures and precautions have been taken to ensure the safety of all the participants,” says a community member from the Clint Independent District.
