It is expected that each of the new Peugeot versions will have a 134-horsepower gasoline engine, a new dual-clutch electric gearbox and a 48-volt battery that is recharged while driving. The powertrain will also be installed on the smaller e-208 next year, giving it greater range and a power boost.
According to Peugeot, the 5008 will be the last model in the French carmakers’ range to be equipped with electricity. All other models, including the 3008, are already available with a hybrid powertrain. The Peugeot 208, Peugeot 2008, Rifter and Traveler models received a variant All-electric, the Peugeot 308 is the next car in the line to receive an electric powertrain.
