The Hope Women’s Resource Clinic, a faith-based non-profit, has been a beacon of hope for pregnant women in Southeast Texas for 27 years.

Their mission is to provide compassionate medical services, material support, and educational resources to women facing unexpected pregnancies. Recognizing the multifaceted challenges these women encounter, the clinic offers a comprehensive range of support, aiming to empower them to make informed decisions about their future.

“The Hope Clinic is a faith-based non-profit that helps women who find themselves in crisis because they are pregnant,”

explains Jeanette Harvey, Executive Director of the Hope Women’s Resource Clinic.

“[We] do medical services such as pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, testing and treatments. We help the women by supplying all of their material needs and educational resources until the baby turns one.”

Reaching Out to Those in Need

The clinic’s outreach extends far beyond its physical location. Equipped with a 38-foot mobile unit, the Hope Clinic travels to Hardin County, providing crucial services to women in rural communities. They also serve Jefferson, Chambers, Galveston, and Orange Counties, making a significant impact across SoutheastTexas.

Harvey notes,

” We serve all the counties around us. We have a 38-foot mobile unit that serves Hardin County. We serve all of Jefferson County, Chambers County, Galveston County, this side of Galveston County, and Orange County. We go to Crystal Beach every Thursday.”

The mobile unit brings essential healthcare directly to women who might face transportation barriers or limited access to medical facilities, embodying the clinic’s commitment to reaching those in need.

More Than Just Medical Care

At the heart of the Hope Clinic’s philosophy is a deep understanding that pregnancy is not simply a medical event but a life-changing experience.

They offer a holistic approach that encompasses medical care, material assistance, and comprehensive educational programs. Their services include:

* **Pregnancy Testing and Ultrasounds:** Providing accurate and confidential pregnancy confirmation.

* **Prenatal Care and Referrals:** Ensuring women receive essential medical care throughout their pregnancy.

* **Material Assistance:** Offering clothing, diapers, cribs, and other essential items to support mothers and babies.

* **Parenting Classes:** Empowering women with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate parenthood successfully.

“ We have two exam rooms, a waiting area lab, and so we go out. We’re out there for four or five hours, and we’ll see as many as eight clients if time allows, to do all of the medical services that we can there. We have nine medical people on staff, and then the rest are our admin or client services,”

Harvey explains.

Building a Brighter Future

Recognizing the growing need for their services, the Hope Clinic is embarking on an ambitious project: the construction of a 3,400-square-foot parenting center. This new facility will expand their capacity to provide lasting support to families, offering classes and material assistance five days a week instead of the current one day.

“ What we’re seeing is a greater need for a longer time. So, we’re actually building a
3,400-square-foot parenting center right here on this property that will allow us to do classes and material assistance five days a week instead of the one-day week we’ve been able to do until now,”

Harvey shares.

Dedicated to the Community

The Hope Women’s Resource Clinic relies on the generosity of individual donors, churches, and community partners. Their annual gala, a major fundraising event, draws over 900 guests and raises approximately half of their budget.

To support their mission, the clinic also hosts creative fundraising initiatives throughout the year, including the

“Baby Bottle Campaign,” where churches collect donations in baby bottles, and a

“clay shoot, which is coming up in February, and then we started a pickleball tournament which will be coming in April.”

These community- driven events not only generate vital funds but also raise awareness about the clinic’s essential services, fostering a spirit of compassion and support.
