Uli Hoeneß, honorary president of Bayern Munich, criticized former coach Julian Nagelsmann, stressing that he was not supposed to go on a skiing vacation following losing 2-1 to Bayer Leverkusen.
Hoeness told Kicker Sports magazine on Sunday: If he had stayed in Munich they would have met him and talked to him on Monday or Tuesday, and who knows what would have happened?
Hoeness added that he was quite certain the club’s leaders were unaware that Nagelsmann was on vacation at the time.
He pointed out: The technical director does not need to request leave.
Bayern Munich sacked its former coach Nagelsmann and used the efforts of Thomas Tuchel as his successor, as he led the team to a 4-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, to regain the top of the standings.
