Honor Play 30 specs spotted

Honor continues its pace to become the new Huawei across global markets. The company has already conquered the Chinese market and continues to work to improve its range of devices. Of course, the key to success is owning a variety of devices for different market segments. The company is now investing in the budget and mid-range market with its Play series. Back in December, the company introduced the Honor Play 30 Plus. Now, it is time for vanilla to appear in the Chinese market. Today, this unreleased was the model A certified by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

Honor Play 30 Key Specifications

The Honor Play 30 bears the model number VNE-ANOO on the website of the Chinese certification authority. Interestingly, MIIT is very generous when it comes to revealing specs. Honor Play 30 is no exception and most of its key specifications have been confirmed. The device will have an octa-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz and will come with different RAM storage options. There will be 4 GB, 6 GB, 8 GB, and even 12 GB of RAM. Storage will be split between 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB options. It is also possible to increase the storage space with a good micro SD card of up to 512 GB.

The certification further reveals that Honor Play 30 has a dual camera setup. Unfortunately, it appears that the camera department is suffering the biggest from the cost-cutting measures. It has a dual camera setup with a simple 13MP main camera and a 5MP secondary camera. Selfie shooter exists but accuracy is unknown. The phone will be sold in black, blue, silver and gold colours. It is 8.68 mm thick and weighs 194 grams.

MIIT reveals that the phone has 5G certification. So we suspect the chipset inside is MediaTek Dimensity 700. After all, it has two ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at up to 2.2GHz as well as six ARM Cortex-A55 cores up to 2.0GHz. Since the list talks about an octa-core 2.2 GHz processor, the Dimensity 700 seems like a reasonable choice here. After all, it’s a low-cost 5G chip.

The size of the battery is still a mystery, but we know that the phone only has 10W of charge. We’d bet on a 5,000mAh battery, after all, that’s been a huge benchmark among mid-range and low-cost smartphones.

For now, the remaining specifications are still a mystery, but we expect more leaks to emerge in the coming days. It is worth noting that Honor is already preparing for the release of the Honor 70 series.
