Unlike most of its competitors, which rely on 8-megapixel sensors, Honor’s Pad 8 is content with a 5-megapixel back photo sensor. Suffice to say that the device is not really intended to capture high quality images – its 12-inch format does not make it a very practical extra camera.
In terms of image quality, it has to be said that the low definition offered does not make it possible to obtain truly satisfactory shots. The development is laborious, even by day, the lack of sharpness is flagrant and the smoothing omnipresent. At night, unsurprisingly, difficult to use the images.
The equipment of the Honor Pad 8 is identical on the front: it is therefore necessary to deal with a 5 megapixel sensor and an optic opening at f / 2.2. Suffice to say that the selfies lack precision to convince, and that the roughness of the face disappears behind the smoothing… The portrait mode – available on the front as well as on the back of the tablet – does not seem to have any effect, no specific clipping not having been perceptible during our tests. Let’s add that in video – without stabilization of course – the tablet allows you to shoot in 1080p. We will also favor this use, useful for video, rather than capturing still images.
