Not only Honor, but also other Chinese manufacturers first launch their flagship models on the domestic market and then aim for the world market with them. This will not be the case with the hot new Honor Magic 7 Pro, which officially saw the light of day on October 30. Our editors received an invitation from Honor to China, where we could try the phone exclusively. In addition to these immediate first impressions, we are preparing two more interesting articles for you. We had the opportunity to visit the Honor factory in Shenzhen, where smartphones are manufactured, as well as the stylish Flagship Store in Chengdu.
Honor Magic 7 Pro live
In the domestic Chinese market, the new model from Honor is a big hit. During our travels, we saw a lot of advertising billboards for phones, the overwhelming majority of which were about the Magic 7 Pro. The Honor Magic 7 Pro should appear on the Czech market in the second half of January. We do not know the price yet, but we estimate that it will be slightly higher than in the case of the Magic 6 Pro, mainly due to the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset used, for which Qualcomm charges higher fees. The selling price of the “six” was CZK 30,990, however, it was possible to get a discount of CZK 5,000 immediately at the start of the sale, which brought the phone to CZK 25,990.
The equipment was definitely not spared
Looking at the hardware, it is clear that the Honor Magic 7 Pro is a smartphone with almost no compromises. We have also seen changes in the design, thanks to which the novelty seems much more mature. The sides of the phone are now straight, the glass back and the display are slightly rounded on all sides. I also praise the very thin frame around the display. However, it is not a small thing in terms of feeling – the overall dimensions are 162.7 x 77.1 x 8.8 mm, the weight is 223 grams.
The prominent feature of the back is the circular photomodule with a metal border that protrudes a few millimeters. Magic 7 Pro boasts two degrees of protection IP68 & IP69. This assembly is not quite common, in the case of the second standard, Honor states that it is an increased resistance to hot splashing water.
The front is dominated by a spacious 6.8″ OLED panel with a Full HD+ resolution (1280 × 2800 px), a dynamic refresh rate (1 to 120 Hz) and a maximum brightness of 1600 nits (temporary peak for HDR content is up to 5000 nits). The display protected by Honor Rhino Glass includes not only an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, which is really fast, but also an oval cut-out for a 50 Mpx selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.0 and, above all, an improved 3D face scanner that works similarly to Face ID on iPhones and an ordinary photo you definitely won’t fool him.

The trio of cameras will certainly not embarrass you. The phone contained a test version of the software (MagicOS 9.0 built on Android 15) and the quality can still be improved before it is launched on the Czech market, but even so the results are not bad at all, even when taking photos and recording in poor lighting conditions.
Honor Magic 7 Pro and the Camera app
The surprise is the 200Mpx resolution of the telephoto lens, thanks to which you can use not only a three-fold optical zoom, but also a six-fold hybrid one. You can view the test images in the gallery below. However, for a more detailed evaluation, we will wait until a piece designed specifically for our market arrives at our editorial office.
Specifically, the protruding module houses a trio of cameras in the following configuration:
- 50 Mpx main with optical stabilization and variable aperture f/1.4-f/2.0
- 50 Mpx wide-angle with 122° angle of view, macro function (from 2.5 cm) and f/2.0 aperture
- 200Mpx periscopic with 3x optical zoom (up to 100x digital), optical stabilization and f/2.6 aperture
What is the variable aperture for?
The variable aperture of a mobile phone camera is used to better control the amount of light that hits the sensor, thereby improving the quality of photos in different lighting conditions. In low light, the wide aperture (f/1.4) lets in more light, resulting in brighter images with less noise. Conversely, in sufficient or strong lighting, such as outdoors on a sunny day, a narrower aperture (f/2.0) is used to limit the amount of light, preventing overexposure and improving depth of field. The variable aperture increases the versatility of the camera, enabling the capture of more detailed scenes and at the same time creating a more natural depth of field not only for portrait shots.

The Honor Magic 7 Pro can record 4K video at a frame rate of 60 fps. While 3x optical and 6x hybrid zoom is available for photography, a maximum of 2.6x zoom can be used for video recording.
Snapdragon 8 Elite
The driving engine of the new product is the recently introduced flagship 3nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which boasts both enormous performance and incredible efficiency. In addition, Honor gave this chip an efficient cooling system consisting of a 3D evaporator chamber made of stainless steel, a layer of graphite and a layer of cooling gel – the total area of the cooling system measures 30,000 mm2.
In the Weather application, you can find practical information on how to wear warm clothes, whether it is suitable for outdoor sports, but also what the season is in terms of the intensity of the spread of viruses, whether it makes sense to wash the car due to the current forecast.
In the AnTuTu benchmark 10, we measured an average of three tests with a very high score of 3,073,442 points. Honor “packages” a generous capacity of 12 or 16 GB of operating memory with the chipset, and the storage can then reach capacities of 256 or 512 GB (UFS 4.0). However, we do not yet know which memory (and color) variants will be available on our market.
The capacity of the silicon-carbon battery (5,850 mAh) is also generous, while 100W cable charging and 80W wireless charging are supported. However, a variant with a slightly lower capacity of around 5,200 mAh will appear in Europe. Due to the use of a third generation silicon-carbon battery, it will still be a very generous capacity.
Price and availability
As I announced in the introduction, the Honor Magic 7 Pro has so far only been presented in China, where it has been sold since November 8 in black, white, blue and a kind of “marble” color. In addition to the Pro variant, the lightweight Honor Magic 7 Lite will appear on the Czech market. On the contrary, the basic version will not be available here. We do not yet know the local price, but we estimate that it will range from 27 to 29 thousand CZK.
