Honor leads the smartphone market in China in the 3rd quarter of the year

Honor stood out in this most recent quarter of the year, leading the Chinese domestic market, and continued to expand its growth program in this market. In China, the brand, previously owned by Huawei but now independent, led the Chinese smartphone market in the third quarter of 2023surpassing competition from Oppo, Apple, Xiaomi and Vivo.

This appears to be a significant result for the company, as the new additions to its product line and new products launched in recent months have been well received in the local market.

Analysts from companies such as IDC, Counterpoint and Canalys point, with small percentage differences, to Honor as the new leader of the smartphone market in China. The brand achieved the first position in terms of units shipped during the third quarter of 2023, with a market share varying between 18% and 19.3%.

According to Counterpoint, for example, shipments increased 3% in the quarterwhile the market in general is down 3%, and major players in the sector are facing a deep crisis, with a 10% drop for Apple, 14% for OPPO and 13% for vivo.

It is also worth noting the success in the foldable smartphone market. The Honor Magic V2, according to Counterpoint data, was the best-selling foldable smartphone in the quarter among models with a design that opens horizontally.
