Honor 80 GT presented with SD 8+ Gen 1 and 54 MP camera

Honor today introduced the Pad V8 Pro and another member of the 80 series – the Honor 80 GT is here. Technically, it ranks just below that thanks to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset Pro-Modell. However, the 6.67-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels is a bit smaller. Color depth, on the other hand, remains at 10-bit, as does full DCI-P3 color space coverage, 1,400 nits peak brightness, and 120Hz refresh rate.

Of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset takes over the power of the Honor 80 GT and is paired with either 12 or 16 GB of RAM, while the storage is always 256 GB. However, the international version for the world market might bring further variants. The camera setup on the back is interesting. The main camera uses a 1/1.49-inch Sony IMX800 sensor with 54-megapixel resolution and an f/1.9 aperture. The ultra-wide angle is already significantly slimmed down with 8 megapixels and an aperture of f/2.2, just like the 2 megapixel macro camera. The front camera has a resolution of 16 megapixels with an f/2.4 aperture.

The Honor 80 GT is powered by a 4,800mAh battery that supports Honor’s 66W fast charge protocol. Unfortunately, Android 12 with Honor’s Magic UI 7.0 interface is still on board at the start. Honor highlights features like a large 4,386mm² vapor chamber and copper wires for improved cooling. A 74 mm graphene plate has also been installed, which underlines the positioning as a gaming phone.

To start in China, the Honor 80 GT with 12 GB of RAM will cost from CNY 3,299 (EUR 446). The 16 GB RAM version is priced at 3,599 CNY (486 euros). The available colors are black, blue and white.
