Created this year by Vincent Le Roy’s Breizh Foal Show team, the Genequine Ouest association, aiming to restore breeding and calibration in Brittany to its former glory, is recruiting 2 stallions: Honolulu and Elliptique. They join the young Knight to Behold in the Côtes d’Armor, but also Désinvolte, who is stationed for Genequine at Gilles Defontaine in the Morbihan. In addition, Genequine invites you to become a member of the association, in particular to benefit from preferential rates on their stallions.
Two new stallions for the happy team of Genequine Ouest!
Created this year by a young team full of motivation and ambition, Genequine West is an association aiming to actively put breeding and calibration in Brittany back on the map. Under the impulsion of Vincent Le Roy, Celine Berthouloux, Lucie Henryor Jennifer Bouyou and Aurelien Dincuff, Genequine Ouest wants to be open to everyone, in order to develop vocations and introduce people to a region rich in equestrian history, particularly in the racing sector. Thus, two stallions were already announced, namely Knight To Behold at the Kervic farm in the Côtes d’Armor, on the site of the first Breizh Foal Show, and Casual at Gilles Defontaine in Morbihan.
Elliptical
Two new stallions are also arriving at Genequine Ouest, and are joining Knight To Behold in the charming town of Pont de Buis les Quimerch: Elliptical et Honolulu. After having been in the South-West, then the Center-East, Elliptique finds a stud farm. Gr.1 winner in Germany and excellent steed under the Rothschild colours, the son of New Approach gave some good winners despite reduced production. This is the case of jumpers I Run, Icarios, Paris Brestbut above all Ironic, winner over hurdles and steeplechase with the Lageneste/Macaire tandem. He also has a good 2 year old at Yoann Bonnefoy, The Minardièrewho has just won a class 2 by 4 lengths at Bordeaux.
Honolulu
As for Honolulu, a stallion who is very dear to Vincent LeRoy, who has always supported him and his owner Michel Coroller, he is already more confirmed. This excellent stayer by the reference Montjeu is known for giving black-type winners Maffray Lightning (Jean Bart listed prize) and Kerza Emerald (France Sire Anjou Loire Challenge and Grand Steeple du Lion d’Angers), both of which were bred in the Côtes d’Armor. He covered 45 and 42 mares in 2020 and 2021 in the Center East, and has just given a good winner in England. Bought £68,000 by And Skelton, Hitching Jacking won by 6 lengths on the hurdles.
Genequine Ouest is therefore off to a very strong start with 4 stallions in 2023! Honolulu, Knight To Behold and Désinvolte will also be presented at the Salon des Etalons du Lion d’Angers, a first appointment to check out to meet the team and its recruits. In addition, open days will be organized on February 17 and 18 at the Kervic farm. Genequine Ouest already invite you to join the association, in particular to take advantage of exceptional rates on the 4 stallions.
