This is the first half marathon held since the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. The event is divided into challenge group and open group. The total distance is regarding 21.1 kilometers. The starting and ending points are at the Hong Kong Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.
In the morning of that day, the challenge group event took the lead in firing at 7:40. Kipchumba from Kenya crossed the line in 1 hour, 01 minutes and 39 seconds and won the men’s championship. The women’s championship was won by Sara from Uganda with a time of 1 hour, 08 minutes and 5 seconds. This competition also held the first East Asia Half Marathon Championship. Xie Dongsheng and Xu Shuangsheng from the Chinese team won the men’s and women’s championships respectively.

Xu Shuangshuang said: “I think the track is more difficult, with more ups and downs. I was not in very good condition today, so I ran this race as a training session and finished the race safely despite some injuries.
