The “Hong Kong Photo Contest 2022” organized by “National Geographic” announced the winners this month. From the 8,580 entries, the judges selected the champion, runner-up, third runner-up and 3 excellent works in six categories: city, ecology, landscape, character, mobile phone and short film. Last year, Hong Kong was troubled by the new crown epidemic. The authorities built community isolation facilities throughout the territory. Contestant Shao Weifeng won the championship in the city category with his photo of the community isolation facility “Hong Kong Unique New Building”.
There are 3 judges in this competition, including National Geographic Chinese explorer and eco-photographer Xi Zhinong, director Zhang Jingwei, and editor-in-chief of the Chinese version of National Geographic magazine Li Yongshi. Among them, Li Yongshi said that this year’s entries captured the special journey of Hong Kong in the past two years, and the photos left behind have a certain historical significance.
According to the organizer, the award-winning works will be displayed simultaneously in physical exhibitions and online virtual exhibitions, and the public can visit online and offline for free.
