Hong Kong: Jimmy Lai, a media company owner and entrepreneur who worked once morest the Chinese government in Hong Kong, was sentenced to five years and nine months in prison. He was convicted of fraud. He recently served 20 months in prison for leading an agitation and joining an illegal gang. Jimmy Lye is on trial on charges related to national security.

Life imprisonment is expected in this case. He is the owner of the Apple Daily newspaper, the founder of several ventures, including the Giordano clothing chain, and a financial backer of the pro-democracy movement in Hong Kong.
