Carrie Lam, Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Ordered a disciplinary investigation of 13 senior officials who attended a party celebrating the birthday of a representative of the National People’s Congress. The 13 high-ranking officials, including 19 members of the Hong Kong Legislature, and other guests attended the event. were sent to a state detention facility. All will be quarantined for 21 days to contain a new wave of outbreaks.
During a press conference late yesterday evening (Jan 7) Ms Lam said she had ordered an investigation. “In detail” that 13 senior officials attended the birthday party “Is it a violation of discipline?”
“I ordered all the officials who were quarantined saying, They should not refrain from performing their duties once more. and it shall be deemed that the quarantine period is the use of vacation days as well.”
The officials attended a party to celebrate the 53rd birthday of Whitman Hung, the Hong Kong Representative to the National People’s Congress of China (NPC), held on Monday before a speech.
