Is it true that advertisements claiming that famous celebrities or economic experts such as Baek Jong-won, Song Eun-i, Hong Jin-kyung, and Hwang Hyun-hee provide investment know-how? These advertisements are all false advertisements by impersonation accounts, so you should never be fooled by them. Stock advertisements impersonating celebrities are rampant on social media such as Facebook, and even people involved are urging caution.
These advertisements, which have recently been posted on social media, impersonate celebrities or economic experts and provide free investment know-how or give away related books to attract clicks and encourage people to join stock reading rooms. In particular, although these advertisements were marked as ‘advertisements’, they looked as if they had been posted by celebrities themselves, using the format of Facebook posts.
Not only celebrities, but also political and economic figures such as Kim Jong-in, former chairman of the People Power Emergency Response Committee, Jang Ha-jun, professor at Cambridge University, Joo Jin-hyung, former CEO of Hanwha Investment & Securities, Seon Dae-in, director of Seon Dae-in Economic Research Institute, and former Meritz Asset Management CEO John Lee are also victims of impersonation .

For example, if you look at an advertisement impersonating Professor Ha-Jun Jang, he introduces himself as Professor Ha-Jun Jang and then says, “Today, I want to share with you a way to get out of financial difficulties,” and “Investing in stocks can be tens or even hundreds of times higher than your annual salary. “We guarantee an 80% win rate,” he said. An advertisement impersonating comedian Hwang Hyun-hee said, “I recently learned a lot from reading the very professional investment book ‘Escape from Beginner’s Stock Investment,’” and added, “To repay the support that has been shown over a long period of time, Hwang Hyun-hee has prepared 500 physical books.”
Victims of impersonation are concerned that those who see the advertisements may suffer harm, so they are directly urging caution. On the 17th, Song Eun-i said, “I am informing you in case there are people who read the content and feel harmed. He said, “It has nothing to do with me and is an illegal advertisement that combines my photo with a book. There are many cases where books are advertised by combining photos of other celebrities and celebrities, so please be especially careful.” On the 14th, Hong Jin-kyung said, “I do not run any classes or stock rooms. “They say that a lot of false advertisements like this are seen on social media these days,” he said. “If you see something like this, please don’t be deceived and report it to avoid becoming a victim.”

Ko Hak-soo, chairman of the Personal Information Protection Committee, said during the National Assembly audit on the 19th, “We are reviewing measures internally in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act that allow for deletion or blocking of information when it is exposed regardless of the individual’s will.” The Korea Communications Standards Commission said, “In order to request correction of information that infringes on the right of publicity, it is necessary to prove the fact that the right to publicity has been violated,” and requested that the affected party actively apply for review to the Committee.
Meta, which operates Facebook, said, “At the global headquarters level, we are blocking impersonation advertisement content using related technology (AI) and manpower,” and added, “As the number of impersonation advertisements is increasing, additional monitoring personnel are being deployed.”
