SHANGHAI, May 29 (Archyde.com) – China’s State Administration for Market Regulation said on Thursday that Honda will recall more than 200,000 hybrid vehicles (HVs). This is due to a problem with the brake pedal sensor on some models.

A total of 105,608 HVs produced by a joint venture between Honda and Chinese automaker Dongfeng Motor Group between October 8, 2018 and September 7, 2020 are expected to be recalled. In addition, 95,081 vehicles manufactured between August 27, 2018 and August 6, 2020 by a joint venture between Honda and Guangzhou Automobile Group will also be affected.

Lubricating oil that enters the brake pedal sensor during the manufacturing process can cause the sensor to malfunction over time. The recall is scheduled to begin on March 31, 2019.
