Lee “You should definitely take off the phrase ‘that person once more'”
“Reform the party by destroying factions, players, and constituencies”
On the 15th, Rep. Lee Yong-ho of People’s Strength announced his candidacy as the floor leader. As a result, the ‘Ho-Young Joo consensus theory’, which came out mainly from some ‘pro-Yun-gye’ lawmakers, seems to have practically failed.
Rep. Lee held a press conference at the National Assembly on the same day and said, “We need to reshape the party with a new look by destroying the faction, destroying the players, and breaking the regional structure.”
Rep. Lee said, “Even in the current situation where the party is facing a major crisis, only regressive remarks such as blocking the rotation of the floor leader and the theory of election are coming out. are losing,” he said.
Rep. Lee said, “I can say with confidence that the power of the people will give a fresh shock to the people just by choosing the pragmatic and moderately conservative Lee Yong-ho, where Honam is the constituency, and the people’s power is a fresh shock.” Power must make bold and courageous choices for the success of the Yun Seok-yeol administration.”
With Lee’s declaration of candidacy, it is evaluated that the theory of establishing an agreement with former emergency committee chairman Joo Ho-young, which had been discussed mainly among pro-Yun-gye figures within the party, has virtually failed. When he met with reporters right following the declaration of candidacy and asked if ‘Yoon Shim’ was important, he dismissed it, saying, “There is a saying that three people can create a tiger that does not exist, but I think that Yoon Shim is a tiger that three or four people created.”
Rep. Lee, a member of the People’s Party, is the only non-Democratic candidate to be re-elected in the 21st general election in Namwon, Sunchang, and Imsil, North Jeolla Province. After that, he joined the Yun Seok-yeol camp during the presidential election in December of last year as a joint election campaign chairperson and joined the people’s power.
The People’s Power will elect the floor leader on the 19th, four days later.
