“Homophobic morbidity from Report, unacceptable gossip” –

«In recent hours Report has pumped up the alleged ‘male’ scandal by deliberately using a single lever, homophobic morbidity». This is the broadside launched, interviewed by Il Giornale, by the senator of Italia Viva, Ivan Scalfarotto, commenting on the previews of the Rai Tre broadcast ‘Report’ on the Spano case which led to the resignation of the head of Cabinet of the Minister of Culture Alessandro Giuli.

Spano leaves as MiC chief of staff: Unpleasant personal attacks

‘Report’, continues Scalfarotto, «is a newspaper that defines itself as left-wing, as does Sigfrido Ranucci himself. And it is impressive that a journalist who claims to be left-wing has chosen to use this type of unacceptable 1950s-style gossip on ‘murky homosexual circles’, to pump up and advertise his program in all TV lounges.” The fact that no one on the left has raised the issue of homophobia in the case of Francesco Spano “doesn’t surprise me, even if I’m sorry, and I would expect someone on my political side to decide to do so” adds the Italia Viva parliamentarian.
