A SURVEY from the Transportation Policy Agency (BKT) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) estimates that the peak of homecoming will be on H-2 of Eid 2024 or Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah or Monday (8/4). The total reached 26.6 million people or 13.7 percent of the total number of travelers.
“The most popular national homecoming day is D-2,” said Head of BKT Ministry of Transportation Robby Kurniawan in a virtual press conference ‘Preparation and Operation Plan for Eid Transport 2024’, Sunday (17/4).
Nevertheless, the number of homecoming travelers on H-4 or Saturday (6/4) was also recorded as high, namely 23.2 million people or 11.98 percent. Then, on H-3 or Sunday (7/4) there were 23.1 million people or 11.94 percent.
Robby also revealed the estimated peak return flow for Eid 2024, namely, on D+3 or Sunday (14/4).
“The number reached 40.99 million people,” said Robby.
The Ministry of Transportation actually predicts that there will be 193.6 million homecoming travelers nationally for Eid 2024. This number has increased compared to Eid 2023, which was recorded at 123.8 million people.
The BKT survey was conducted nationally in 38 provinces and involved 15 thousand respondents from January 29 to February 29 2024. The sample used the Slovin formula with online collection.
The analysis method uses descriptive, estimation and cross-sectional analysis. The margin of error for the survey reached 0.82 percent. (Z-6)
