Since he ended his career, it has become worryingly quiet regarding Jürgen Drews. Contact with many of his hit colleagues also seems to have broken off.

Dülmen-Rorup – For almost 50 years, Jürgen Drews (78) was an indispensable part of the world of German-language hits and, thanks to his success on the legendary Ballermann party mile, was nicknamed the “King of Mallorca”. At the end of January, however, the music veteran ended his illustrious career with a very last television appearance. Since then it has become surprisingly quiet around him – which gives his former colleagues food for thought.

“It’s a bit difficult at the moment”: Mickie Krause is no longer in contact with Jürgen Drews

Whether as a pop singer with unforgettable hits like “Ein Bett im Kornfeld” or in front of the camera for various film and TV productions – many newcomers today can only dream of a CV like that of Jürgen Drews. On January 14, 2023, the last television show with Drews flickered across the screens with “Der Große Schlagerabschied”. After this musical final stroke of the extra class, in which countless of his colleagues did him the honor, the “King of Mallorca” withdrew – and lately there has hardly been a sign of life.

Since he finally rang in his well-deserved retirement at the beginning of the year, communication between Jürgen Drews, who suffers from the nervous disease polyneuropathy, and his fans has waned significantly. On January 15, the native of Brandenburg reviewed the “hit farewell” on Instagram, but there were no more postings on the image platform in the past few months. And he doesn’t seem to have a particularly lively exchange with his colleagues either.

“It’s not that easy to reach Jürgen,” Ballermann star Mickie Krause (53) recently explained web.de, “I haven’t been able to do that lately, not even on his birthday in April. I think he’s having a little trouble at the moment.” The interpreter of “One Week Awake” doesn’t know what the reason for this is, but he has decided to “invite Jürgen and Ramona to the barbecue once more.”

Despite mega career: Jürgen Drews hardly gets a pension

For almost 50 years, Jürgen Drews has been on the big stages and has had a career that no one will be able to duplicate in a hurry. One would think that this success would be reflected in a substantial pension today – but that is not the case at all. “That’s not even 200 euros. I can have a nice meal with Ramona from that. That’s it, ”explained the Schlager veteran in 2020 BILD. However, he had no financial worries. “I’ve made provisions and invested my money well.”

After a career: Jürgen Drews reveals how he will spend his retirement

An Instagram account that is completely idle and broken contact with other hit stars – these developments should be cause for concern for Jürgen Drews fans. Although he has largely withdrawn from the public eye in the months that have passed since the “hit farewell”, there is no need to worry regarding his well-being, as Drews told the magazine Woman with heart made clear. “I enjoy the time at home, with Ramona, Joelina, with our dogs and in the garden,” quoted schlagerradio.de the “Barefoot Through Summer” singer.

Knowing that their idol is doing well is sure to put a smile on pop fans’ faces, but it wasn’t until May that Drews’ loyal followers suffered a major disappointment. Because the official fan group of Jürgen Drews on Facebook suddenly had to be closed. Sources used: web.de; schlagerradio.de; bild.de
