New episodes of “Der Bergdoktor” are currently being filmed. The Linn actress now explains what Andrea Gerhard’s future looks like in the ZDF home series.
Update from July 04, 2023 at 9:00 p.m.: A new “Bergdoktor” season without Andrea Gerhard, aka Linn Kemper – a sad idea for the fans of the cult series. Even if it initially seemed as if the viewers would have to do without Martin Gruber’s (Hans Sigl, 53) receptionist in the future, luckily that is not the case. Because, as Andrea Gerhard confirmed in her Instagram story on Monday evening (July 3), she is back in the Wilder Kaiser region and is in front of the camera for new “Bergdoktor” episodes.
At first it seemed as if Andrea Gerhard would suspend the upcoming “Bergdoktor” season – luckily that’s not the case, as she explains in her Instagram story. © Screenshot/Instagram/andreagerhard_tall_area (photomontage)
First, the native of Marburg shared a picturesque snapshot of a mountain lake and a little later spoke up with a short video message. “There are already reports that I’m back on the set,” explained Andrea Gerhard, “I never said I wasn’t on the set, right?” She is happy to be shooting once more and finally announced: “Me I’m excited to see what’s going to happen for Linn this season.”
First report from July 01, 2023: Hamburg – In “Der Bergdoktor” Andrea Gerhard is one of the absolute fan favorites in her role as receptionist Linn Kemper. But now the viewers of the ZDF series are in a state of turmoil: Because the shooting of the 17th Bergdoktor season has already started – so far without the actress.
“The Mountain Doctor” without Andrea Gerhard? Filming has begun without the actress
Andrea Gerhard (39) has been with Hans Sigl (53) since 2019 as Dr. Martin Gruber’s medical assistant Linn Kemper can be seen in “Der Bergdoktor”. After the end of the last season, the announcement followed on Instagram: Andrea Gerhard will take a little break. Together with her partner David Wehle (42), the 39-year-old traveled through India and Sri Lanka for almost nine weeks.

Andrea Gerhard is now back in Germany – with a new passion in her luggage: “I started meditating, ending up in Sri Lanka. Before that we did a lot of sightseeing, so I didn’t have time. You also become a little more grateful for what you have, for where you live. You realize that work is not everything in life”the TV star enthuses bild.de-Interview regarding the impressions of their trip.
Already knew? “The Mountain Doctor” is a remake
“Der Bergdoktor” was already on the air in the 1990s. From 1992 to 1997, the doctor series was still on Sat.1. The role of the mountain doctor Dr. Burgner then took over Gerhart Lippert (85). But following only four seasons, Burgner died in serial death and Dr. Hallstein (Harald Krassnitzer, 62) became the new mountain doctor.
Despite good ratings, Sat.1 canceled the series following only five years. Finally, ZDF secured the rights to the series – with success. Because even following 16 seasons, there is still no series finale planned.
Thematically no problem: Andrea Gerhard’s role in “Der Bergdoktor” also takes a break
It remains to be seen whether this statement means that Andrea Gerhard would like to step back as an actress in the future. Filming for the upcoming “Der Bergdoktor” season is already in full swing. However, the 39-year-old has not yet been in front of the camera for the new episodes.
In view of the current events in “Der Bergdoktor”, it would definitely be possible for Andrea Gerhard to take a break from TV: After her series character Linn Kemper had suffered greatly from the argument between her friend Hans Gruber and his brother Martin, she left Ellmau without further ado and fled to her sister. In any case, in the past few months, the actress has proven that she is open to change: Andrea Gerhard dyed her hair pink – and surprised her fans with it. Sources used: bild.de
