Although the app Casa (Home) allows you to add some widgets to control accessories connected to HomeKit, Apple’s solution is still very limited — basically restricted to a button to turn a lamp on and off, for example. O Home Widgethowever, goes much further in this sense.
Allowing you to add a multitude of widgets and customize them however you find most enjoyable, the app works similarly to the famous Widgetsmith — as well observed the Cult of Mac —, allowing users to choose a “type” for each widget block created/added.
When creating a widget for a light bulb, for example, you can choose between options such as on/off, turning on following a delay, changing the color or even the intensity of the light emitted. You can even run your scenes or shortcuts directly from one of them, which they are now interactive to take advantage of the full potential of iOS and iPadOS 17.
Allowing you to add virtually any HomeKit device to your smart home — or options natively restricted to the Home app, like HomePod’s temperature and humidity sensors — Home Widget also added support for interactive widgets for the Lock screen and Standby mode (Stand By), bringing even more practicality to users.
Although it’s free to download, Home Widget is a paid app. But its price is very reasonable: just R$2,50 for a monthly subscription, R$23 for an annual and R$50 to acquire it for a one-time purchase.
