The authorities of Medellín confirmed the robbery at a residence in Buenos Aires, commune 9 of the city, which resulted in two of the suspected thieves being injured after the victim managed to defend himself. The Secretary of Security, Manuel Villa, stated that the incident occurred on the night of this Monday, August 5, when apparently four men entered the house located in that area.
According to the information provided by the official, after entering the house, the suspected robbers held the victim and managed to steal a vehicle and money. However, the citizen had a legal firearm and in defending himself, he injured two of the men.

According to the official records of this case, the two individuals injured by the victim’s firearm were captured at the scene and placed at the disposal of the relevant authority for judicial processing, after receiving medical attention and being transferred to a clinic in the city.
Additionally, it is known that the affected individual is a lawyer who carried the pistol with which he defended himself and whose permit for carrying it, as well as other personal documents, were stolen by the thieves who managed to escape after entering his home.
The report on the case indicates that one of the injured has a wound on the left cheek caused by a bullet and a head injury caused by a blunt object, while the second has four wounds in the chest and one in the abdomen, all caused by firearm projectiles.

The victim recounted that he was about to leave his house when he was allegedly approached by several individuals who forced him to enter again, intimidated him, and locked him in a room, where he had the weapon with which he shot at the attackers.
For his part, a video that the victim published on social networks has also come to light, in which he indicates that the suspected robbers were after his cell phones, credit and debit cards. Additionally, he mentioned that he was held hostage for at least two hours and that they pointed a firearm at his head before he was able to defend himself.
“When one of them was going to shoot me, I managed to pull out the weapon and shot him first,” said the victim, who added that the criminals identified themselves as supposed members of the Clan del Golfo. Even the man mentioned that there was an exchange of gunfire, but no bullet hit him. In the midst of the situation, he was able to escape through the rooftops and exit through an adjacent residential unit.

Initially, the man requested the support of the public for information that would help locate the van that the other two suspected criminals managed to steal, a 2017 silver gray Mazda CX5, which was found and recovered by the authorities, who are focusing their efforts on finding the whereabouts of the two men who managed to flee.
