The Home application is one of Apple’s biggest projects at the end of 2022. With the upcoming adoption of the Matter standard, the Apple brand took the opportunity to review the architecture of its application. A change that obviously did not please everyone, Apple having already retraced its steps.
The Cupertino company does not really explain its gesture, but it might be justified by connection problems with HomeKit-enabled devices. According to the specialized media MacRumors (article available at source), several users having installed iOS 16.2, the update of the Home application is no longer part of the news.
Apple retraces its steps
For good reason, many users who had updated in recent weeks have complained to Apple regarding new problems. The apple brand would have misconfigured the application and the latter would no longer be compatible with certain “HomeKit ready” products.
Experiences differ between users, but many have seen their devices turn off or even not be found within the Home app, as if the connection had never been established between the two devices. Several people have mentioned in particular on the forums that the video surveillance connected with HomeKit of their home no longer works.
iOS 16.2: full of new features
Available since December 13, the update for iPhone and iPad iOS 16.2 (iPadOS 16.2) allows users to test the FreeForm application, a solution for collaborative work on iPad, Mac and iPhone. This feature should easily find its audience in school, college and high school courses.
