Hemsworth already embodied the Australian mercenary Tyler Rake in 2020 and thus gave Netflix one of the most watched productions. For the sequel, the crew chose Vienna as one of the priority locations. After months of preparatory work, on Monday (February 14) the last flap of the 250 meter high skyscraper “DC Tower” should fall.
Not only is filming done there, the film team also lives in the building and has set up its production offices there. In a recent APA interview, the managing director of the Vienna Film Commission, Marijana Stoisits, emphasized the economic value of the production, which has been one of the most important productions for Vienna as a film location in the past 15 years.
Secretary of State for Art and Culture Andrea Mayer (Greens) sees the production as an “important impulse for the domestic film industry”, as it was said on Saturday in a broadcast on a set visit by the politician in Vienna-Donaustadt.
Such film productions are “important for Austria as a film location because on the one hand they make Austria better known as a film country in the world and on the other hand they also offer points of contact for domestic film companies,” says Mayer. After the visit, she was “excited to see the result.”
