Holidays will be declared in six districts tomorrow in observance of Thaipongal

Due to the Thaipongal holiday announced on Friday, the Kerala University has postponed all the examinations scheduled for tomorrow.

Thiruvananthapuram: Tomorrow will be a holiday in six districts of the state to observe Thaipongal. The holiday will be in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Palakkad and Wayanad districts. Instead, Saturday will be a working day in these districts. In the 2022 solar calendar, Thaipongal was given a holiday on Saturday, January 15. However, the Tamil Protection State Council had applied to the government to shift the holiday to Friday. The relevant order states that the local holiday was changed in view of this application.

Due to the Thaipongal holiday announced on Friday, the Kerala University has postponed all the examinations scheduled for tomorrow. Renewal date will be announced later. However, despite the announcement of a local holiday, the PSC is scheduled to meet on January 14. Interviews remain unchanged. The sitting of the Kerala Women’s Commission scheduled to be held tomorrow at the Idukki Collectorate Conference Hall will not change.
