The government wishes to promote the departure on vacation of French people who have the least means. This year, the State will thus improve budgetary support for the National Agency for Holiday Checks (ANCV). This will benefit from 1.3 million euros in additional credits out of a total of 3.4 million euros, the Ministry of Tourism announced on Thursday.
These 3.4 million euros should enable more than 15,000 people to benefit from aid to go on vacation in 2023, out of “the 4.5 million employees and self-employed workers supported each year by the ANCV via the well-known scheme of holiday vouchers, ”said the Minister of Tourism, Olivia Grégoire. Its services remind us that “3 to 4 out of 10 French people do not go on vacation during the summer period. The economic difficulties that some households may experience must not be able to hinder these departures”.
“There is the right to work but also the right to rest”
“Everyone has the right to be able to go on vacation, whatever their situation, whatever their means and whatever their age. There is the right to work but also the right to rest, ”explains the minister. It also highlights the importance of “souvenirs” associated with holidays. In addition to the opportunity to get together “with family, among friends”, they make it possible to “discover new horizons, to learn”.
These credits will in particular supplement the financing of three existing programs, dedicated to dependent elderly people and their carers, to women who are victims of violence or to children cared for by Childhood Social Assistance (ASE) or Judicial Protection. of the youth.
They will also come, within the framework of an experiment, to finance the system of “learning colos” of the Ministry of Education, in order to allow “2,500 children of employees and business leaders from the priority neighborhoods of the city ( QPV)” to benefit from it, according to Olivia Grégoire. The remaining charge for families will be 50 euros.
Finally, an experimental system created in 2022 to support the departure on vacation of residents of overseas regions and departments will be renewed in 2023. Last year, 9,200 people benefited from it. The goal is for 10,000 people to take advantage of it this summer. This program is endowed with one and a half million euros.
