holiday departures spoiled this Friday at Brussels Airport, many passengers could not take off (video)

This Friday, July 1, many Belgians went on vacation by plane at Brussels Airport. But many of them will have had their flights canceled.

According to information from RTL, more than 700,000 passengers passed through this Friday. It was the busiest day since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic at Zaventem airport. At the microphone of our colleagues, passengers who might not take off expressed their anger.

Anita was supposed to fly to Rome, but her flight is one of those that have been cancelled: “We had a flight that normally took off at 2:50 p.m. We arrived more than two hours early. There were terrible queues, ”she testifies. But Anita was not at the end of her surprises, because once boarding, “the girl behind the counter told us that the flight was cancelled”, she specifies. “We were not warned. We haven’t received any text messages or emails. It is a scandal. They change the schedules all the time,” Anita laments.

For Rodrigo, it was also a nightmare. He has been stuck at Brussels Airport since Thursday. “The company took us on the plane which was full. We were locked up for 2h45. It was really shameful of them. The pilots said we weren’t leaving because of the bad weather. In the long run, it became a technical problem,” he laments. Then the passengers learned that “French and German airspace was saturated”.
