Agios Justus was a Roman by birth and a soldier by profession and distinguished for his bravery.

In many battles he showed rare bravery, which is why his superiors honored him Especially. In fact, following each war he was promoted to a higher military position.

Justus, on the occasion of this incident, admired the behavior of the Christians and wanted to become a Christian himself. They answered him that only with faith in Christ can this be done and informed him regarding the Gospel.
When Justus heard this, he was in a dilemma. Because the old religion of the idols was reacting in him. But one night as he gazed into the starry sky in contemplation, he noticed a luminous cross, around which shone the word “follow”.
Indeed, Justus immediately responded to this call of Christ without hesitation. He counted neither glories, nor honors, nor military career, nor pleasures.
But “everyone who is depressed is raised up” (Luke, v. 28). That is, following he left everything, he was baptized and followed Christ. But when Tribunus Claudius learned of the fact, he tortured him with red-hot irons. He then threw him into the fire, where he triumphantly surrendered his soul to God.
