Hofburg election: last day for absentee ballot applications

Eligible voters who cannot cast their vote for the presidential election on Sunday at the polling station at their main residence have the last chance today (until midnight) to apply in writing for an absentee ballot. In this case you will receive it by mail. It is still possible until Friday (12:00 p.m.) to pick up voting cards in person or from an authorized messenger at the municipal office.

The written application can be submitted to the municipality from which you were entered in the electoral register until midnight on Wednesday. This is possible with the help of an informal written application, by e-mail, fax or – depending on the availability of the municipality – also online.

Voting cards are available to those eligible voters who cannot come to the polling station at their main place of residence on Sunday (e.g. because of a trip, but also for health reasons or because of age). The ballot cards can be taken to the district electoral authority printed on them from receipt until Sunday – the voter can bring the card himself or send a messenger.
