Hofburg election: Brunner considers a runoff possible

Federal presidential candidate Michael Brunner from the anti-coronavirus measures party MFG (people-freedom-fundamental rights) expects a relatively large number of votes in the upcoming election on October 9 and also believes that it is possible to enter the runoff election. In any case, he sees an “enormous response” within the population, as Brunner noted last night in the ZIB2 interview.

Brunner thinks little of polls that see him with only two percent of the votes. According to Brunner, survey results are one thing, election results another, according to which surveys did not predict MFG’s entry into the Upper Austrian state parliament.

MFG candidate Brunner: “I end a mess”

In the interview series on the federal presidential election on October 9, Michael Brunner, the chairman of the anti-coronavirus measures party MFG, was a guest of Marie-Claire Zimmermann on Thursday.

First trip to Russia

As President-elect, his first trip abroad would be to Russia, then to Ukraine and then to the “indirect warring parties EU and the USA”. Brunner also displayed the sanctions once morest Russia, which MFG had strictly rejected. He would urge these to “cease to an end” and get back to the negotiating table. Here, as President, he would also “look for and probably find allies in the EU”.

Brunner also maintains that he wants to dismiss the government as president. He sees this not only as a right of the Federal President, but as “his duty”. The declared aim of talks with all parties would then be an amicable way for new elections. Brunner rejects the accusation that he might cause chaos with it. On the contrary, he would end chaos and a state and economic crisis.

When asked regarding the coronavirus measures, which were sharply criticized by the MFG, Brunner finally said that it is up to everyone to wear a mask and be vaccinated – but the prerequisite is extensive education, and that applies to CoV vaccination as well everyone wearing a mask.
