Thomas Papadopoulos, Walter Hodge’s agent, spoke regarding Al-Ahly club’s negotiations to include the player; To support the basketball team.
“Al-Ahly contacted Walter Hodge two weeks ago, and the negotiations did not take long,” Thomas said in televised statements on the “Sada Al-Balad” channel.
He continued, “A contact occurred between Augusti and Walter Hodge, and the coach drew a clear picture of Al-Ahly. Augusti’s contact with Walter Hodge was one of the reasons to convince the player, but it was not the only reason.”
He added: “Walter Hodge will arrive in Cairo in September to attend Al-Ahly’s training, and he will participate with Al-Ahly Club since the beginning of the season and will be present in the Arab Championship that will be held next October in Kuwait.”
He continued: “Negotiations took place last season with Al-Ahly, but they were not successful for reasons related to the player’s special circumstances related to the duration of the contract.”
And Thomas added: “There was no communication between Zamalek to return in that period. There was communication between Hodge and some players last season, but it did not develop into any official communication due to Hodge’s association with the Puerto Rican League, which began in April.”
And regarding Walter Hodge’s obtaining of his previous dues in Zamalek, he said: “I do not want to talk regarding this matter in the media.”
