MOSCOW, 3 July. /TASS/. The winner of the Gagarin Cup, the silver medalist of the Olympic Games in hockey, goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov left the hospital. This was announced to TASS on Sunday by the athlete’s lawyer Alexei Ponomarev.
“He was taken away yesterday from the territory of the hospital. Where, while it is not known exactly, we find out on this situation. Tentatively, to Severomorsk, at the place of possible service, but so far we cannot say for sure. I don’t have any information on his well-being yet,” Ponomarev said.
Earlier, the Sport-Express newspaper reported that 25-year-old Fedotov was detained in St. Petersburg. According to the Baza telegram channel, the goalkeeper is suspected of evading military service. As Ponomarev TASS reported, the hockey player became ill at the military enlistment office and was sent to the hospital.
On May 7, the Philadelphia National Hockey League club announced the signing of a one-year contract with Fedotov. The goalkeeper’s agreement with CSKA expired at the end of April.
