On the followingnoon of February 20, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education held a ceremony to appoint 4 lecturers to the title of Associate Professor, and at the same time launched a strong chemistry research group.
Accordingly, implementing the current regulations, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education announced the title of Associate Professor in 2022 with Ms. Nguyen Thi Truc Linh, – Department of Inorganic Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry; Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet – Department of Organic Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry, Mr. Duong Thuc Huy – Department of Organic Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry and Ms. Pham Thi Huong – Department of Educational Management, Faculty of Educational Sciences.
These four teachers have been recognized by the State Council for the Title of Professor to be qualified for the title of Associate Professor in 2022. Thus, with the appointment of 4 Associate Professors this time, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education has 3 teachers. professor, 34 associate professors, in which the percentage of lecturers with doctorate degrees of the university is 40.81%. This is a high rate compared to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
On this occasion, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education also launched a Strong Chemistry Research Group. Thus, together with 3 strong research groups namely Physics, Educational Psychology and Calculus, Chemistry is the 4th strongest research group of the school.
The strong chemistry research group consists of 11 members who are professors, PhDs, and masters of the university. The research team led by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Duong Thuc Huy – Department of Organic Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry is the team leader, focusing on research and development of medicinal applications of Vietnam.

It is known that developing science and technology activities has been one of the key tasks of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education in recent years.
The formation and building of strong research groups is considered by the university as the key, the main force in creating high-quality scientific and technological products for society. Over the years, the activities of three strong research groups, namely Physics, Educational Psychology and Mathematical Calculus, have made certain achievements.
Sharing at the ceremony, Prof. Huynh Van Son, Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education said: According to the school’s latest aggregated data, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education currently has 40.81% of lecturers with PhD level. Therefore, the responsibility of Associate Professors, strong research groups is great in maintaining the ratio of PhDs that the university has.
“Our responsibility is not only to research but also to train and foster highly qualified lecturers. Currently, we are maintaining regarding 150 -170 prestigious international articles. In the journey of striving reaching 200 articles in 1 year, I believe the contribution of the Associate Professors, strong research groups and teachers present today will be very important.
In fact, scientific data (through international scientific articles) plays a very important role. If the school and its team constantly strive to achieve the goal of 200 international scientific articles, all the data for us to participate in the international accreditation and ranking playing field will be very difficult. .
