Hitting, threatening and provoking .. the president of the coastal star raises controversy in the Tunisian league

Maher Karoui, head of the Tunisian coastal star, is subjected to a series of criticisms in Tunisia, following he recently carried out a series of controversial actions.

The strong man of the coastal team wanted to bypass the security barriers by force, in order to enter the fans to attend the confrontation with the Rwandan army in the second leg of the preliminary round of the African Champions League.

Karoui’s move found a strong response from the security forces, who threatened to file a case once morest him for inciting riots in the vicinity of the stadium.

A leaked video clip revealed the latter’s initiative to strike members of the security personnel, who also reacted in a strong manner.

Accusations of insulting arbitration

In November, Maher Karoui attacked the Tunisian referee with strong words, following the match that his team lost once morest Hilal Cheba in the Tunisian League.

The new president described the referees as a “gang”, considering that part of the arbitration system is “corrupt and moves outside legal frameworks.”

The president of ES Sahel continued his controversial behavior, as he made a statement last Sunday to “Knouz FM” radio, which provoked a wave of anger among the Tunisian Esperance fans.

Speaking regarding the difficult interviews that await the team in the coming period, Karoui said: “We have several crucial matches in the coming days, where we will face the future of Suleiman, Club Africain, Union Monastir and the team we faced last Saturday, along with Algeria’s Belouizdad,” referring to the Esperance team.

The star’s strongman’s behavior by not naming him Esperance sparked a wave of deplorable reactions on social networks.
