Hitman 3: dense, complete, and always followed!

Hitman 3 was released in January 2021, and, despite some issues around content transfer between the previous titles and the new one, success was there. Hitman 3 has since been entitled to many updates which add content, with events, challenge contracts, outfits, gadgets or even weapons. Finishing the game’s campaign does not take a lot of time, but complete all the opportunities and discover all the secrets each level can take hundreds of hours.

But in May, the studio announced that “the next evolution” of the license, which offers a particular challenge, needed more time, and that it was postponed to the second half. Unfortunately, players will have to wait some more, because the Freelancer mode has once once more been postponed. In a statement, the studio says that ambitions have been revised upwardswith the integration of almost all levels from Hitman (2016), Hitman 2, and Hitman 3:

We have decided to go beyond our initial launch goal and include almost all locations from World of Assassination (which includes the last 3 games, editor’s note) as soon as Freelancer mode is released. We continue to work to make the launch experience as smooth as possible for all players. We will have the opportunity to say more regarding this in the next articles of “Road to Freelancer”.

No fuzzy output window, since the job is “almost done”, and the release of the game mode has been set to January 26, 2023. The opportunity to celebrate the three years of the game, and to encourage players to come back and have fun on Hitman 3. However, it will be possible to get your hands on this mode, through a technical test which will be launched during the month of November:

We announced this new mode at the start of Year 2 and it’s almost ready. Almost. There are only a few things left to check before launching the mode for good. This is where the closed technical test of HITMAN 3 Freelancer comes in. Early next month, we will selectively invite HITMAN 3 (Steam) players to participate in the Closed Tech Test and put it to the test. From customizing the hideout, to eliminating targets, to unlocking mastery levels, you’ll be able to try out the main elements of the mode – but we’re also keeping some things secret!
