“The defendant shouted East, East, East Germany and raised her hand several times in a Hitler salute,” said prosecutor Thomas Schmelzer at the start of the trial against Müller in the Leipzig district court. The prosecution accuses the 36-year-old of using symbols of unconstitutional and terrorist organizations.
The former RTL jungle queen also has to answer for drug possession after 0.69 grams of cocaine mixture and an ecstasy tablet were found during a search of her apartment in Leipzig. Müller appeared on the first day of the trial in a pink suit with a short skirt and a long pearl necklace around her neck.
The start of the trial had previously been postponed twice at short notice after the Ballermann singer had presented a medical certificate each time. The court has scheduled a continuation date for August 13.

Müller had previously rejected the accusations of giving the Hitler salute and any proximity to “right-wing radicals or nationalist ideology”. She spoke of an inciting gesture for the audience. Neither she nor her management were willing to comment on recent inquiries about all of the accusations. The 36-year-old is presumed innocent until a final conviction.
Müller was born in Oschatz, Saxony. In 2014, she won the eighth season of “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” and has since appeared in numerous TV formats. She performs as a pop singer in Mallorca, among other places.
