History: Surfer Anat Lilior advanced to the round of 16 at the Paris Olympics

Surfer Anat Lilior made history tonight (between Sunday and Monday) and advanced to the round of 16 of the Paris Olympics, in a competition held far from the French capital – in Tahiti.

The 24-year-old Lillior, who finished this year’s World Championship in sixth place and has shown tremendous progress recently, met in the second round the 19-year-old Spaniard Janira Gonzalez Achabari, for a head-to-head battle, the winner of which receives the ticket to the eighth.

During the time allotted to them, the Israeli managed to get a score of 6.5 points in the first wave and in the second wave she settled for 4.5 points, but her opponent presented low exercises and did not convince the judges and therefore scored 2.5 in the first wave and only 0.30 in the second wave.

In total, Lilior scored 11 points compared to the Spaniard’s 2.8, which brought the ticket to the round of 16. In the next step, the Australian Tyler Wright awaits her, who achieved significant achievements in the past in the round competitions and defeated Lilior in the first round.
