VfB Stuttgart has played in the premier class four times so far: from a momentous substitution to a legendary victory for the Young Wilds to performances against the world stars of FC Barcelona and against their long-time opponents Glasgow Rangers, there was a lot to see.

It was Wednesday evening, March 17, 2010, when VfB Stuttgart said goodbye to the Champions League for a very long time. 88,543 spectators were there under floodlights at the Camp Nou stadium as the Stuttgart team, with their Swiss coach Christian Gross, were hopelessly overwhelmed in their last appearance to date on the biggest European club football stage – they lost 4-0 to FC Barcelona. This was the heyday of Spanish football, which would culminate in the World Cup title months later after the 2008 European Championship victory.
