Historic victory: Sadiq Khan elected mayor of London for the third time

Sadiq Khan, who belongs to the Labor Party of Great Britain, has been elected the Mayor of London for the third time after defeating the candidate of the Conservative Party, Susan Hall, on Saturday.

According to The Independent, Pakistani origin Sadiq Khan received more than 1 million 88 thousand votes for this historic victory.

Sadiq Khan got a lead of 275 thousand votes over Susan Hall.

While Hall got less than 813,000 votes.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sonak faced a very difficult situation on the first day of the council election results.

They are now anxiously awaiting the results of mayoral contests in the capital and the West Midlands.

102 of the 107 councils in the elections held on Thursday declared their full results on Friday night.

More than four hundred Conservative Party councilors were defeated. The party was defeated in 10 councils.

South Yorkshire and Liverpool voted for Labor mayors, while a victory for Tory candidate Andy Street in the West Midlands could help fend off rebel MPs.

Before the victory announcements began, Labor Party leader Sir Keir Starmer signaled confidence in Sadiq Khan’s victory.
