Liverpool, runners-up for the last edition, defeated Rangers, Scotland, when they beat them 7-1, including a historic hat-trick for Egyptian international striker Mohamed Salah, on Wednesday in Glasgow, in the fourth round of the first group matches of the European Champions League football competition.
Salah entered the substitute in the 68th minute, and scored his hat-trick in the 75th, 80th and 81st minutes, i.e. in the range of six minutes and 12 seconds, which is the fastest in the history of the competition, according to “Opta” statistics. Salah also became the most Premier League player to score in the Champions League with 38 goals.
The Brazilian Roberto Firmino scored a double in the 24th and 55th minutes, while the other two goals were scored by Uruguayan Darwin Nunez (66) and Harvey Elliott (87).
