Osvaldo Marrero was arrested on suspicion of shooting Anthony “Ant” Holley (44), an ex-convict who was trying to succeed as a rapper, in Chelsea (NYC).
Marrero, 34, stopped showing up for work, emptied his bank account, got rid of his cell phone and used an app to encrypt his new number following Holley’s death in late November, according to prosecutors. finally on tuesday He was trapped in a friend’s apartment following being on the run for 23 days.

The motive for the murder is unclear. Holley had 16 arrests on his record, most for drugs, and had spent more than 16 years in prison for four drug convictions. He was the father of an 18-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl.
Marrero has a prior felony conviction and 10 for minor charges, including two for violating protective orders by harassing and threatening an ex-girlfriend, according to prosecutors.
The victim’s sister, Tashey Holley, said he was looking to the future, working odd jobs and was determined to pursue a career recording rap music. “He was in the studio saying he wanted to take it seriously this time and go following it, until this happened,” he said.
All charges are mere accusations and those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
