A 2-month-old baby and 2-year-old girl who were kidnapped from a residence in Florida by their biological parents were found in Nuevo León, Mexico.

On Wednesday, June 22, authorities in Fort Myers issued a missing child alert to find the whereregardings of Genesis Barrios, the youngest, and Yazmín Barrios.

The minors were located in Linares last Friday; They still remain in Mexico.

The girls’ parents, Evelin Sánchez-Rojas and Inmer Barrios, are also in that country, although the authorities have not detained them.

Earlier this week, Fort Myers Police Sgt. Glenn Thompson said a warrant would be issued for Barrios’s arrest as was done in the Sanchez-Rojas case.

According to the WINK report, small were taken out of the country across the border by their parents.

The authorities detailed that tracked the couple from Southwest Florida to Texas and Mexico using vehicle license readers and by tapping into cell phone signal towers.

Officials in Mexico as well as federal marshals are collaborating with the investigation.

The Fort Myers police arrested the girls’ aunt on Thursdayidentified as Iris Ozorio-Barrios, while she was at her home on Maravilla Avenue.

Earlier on Monday, deputies from the Hillsborough Sheriff’s Office had come to their home for an inspection of the girls.

Ozorio-Barrios, an aunt on her father’s side, had been awarded custody of the sisters on June 16.

Thompson said that Ozorio-Barrios told them that Sánchez-Rojas traveled to his home and told him that a judge had rescinded the custody order in his favor. On her part, the mother would have told Ozorio-Barrios that she might take care of the girls as long as her father did not live in the same house.

The woman faces charges of obstructing a criminal investigation. by providing false information to officials and interfering with the custody of a minor.

The authorities would also be opening an additional investigation once morest the father led by the Tampa Police Department that would have to do with allegations of sexual abuse of another minor with whom he has ties.
