Qingdao, China (ots/PRNewswire) International consumer electronics and appliances company Hisense has received carbon footprint certification for the Hisense 5S series washer-dryers in accordance with the ISO 14067 standard. The company was also awarded a corporate carbon footprint report in accordance with the ISO 14064-1 standard by TÜV Rheinland, a global leader in technical services, for its Hisense washing machine division.

To meet the ISO 14067 standard, TÜV Rheinland worked with Hisense to develop a Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) accounting limit for the 5S series washer dryers. This included the phases of procurement and pre-treatment of raw materials, product production and sales through to use and waste recycling. The carbon footprint data from the production and manufacturing phase was collected by collecting, sorting and reviewing data from the early stages from suppliers and the company itself through the application of data modeling techniques. To produce lifecycle carbon footprint statistics for the application phase for several target export countries, product energy consumption testing standards were used, including EU No. 2019/2023, EN 60456:2006+A11:2020 and EN IEC 62512 standards :2020+A11:2020.

The PCF result recognizes the outstanding energy saving capabilities of the 5S Series washer dryer, helping to reduce power consumption and achieve sustainable energy efficiency in accordance with European Class A standard certification. With the mission of “Wash smartly for comfortable living”, the 5S series washer dryers are designed to support consumers through technical innovation, hygiene standards and ease of use, thereby creating high living convenience. Hisense continuously strives to apply sustainable programs in various aspects of the products, including the conceptual design of sustainable product packaging and the use of environmentally friendly recycled materials as well as materials with low CO₂ emissions.

TÜV Rheinland has also audited the carbon footprint of the Hisense washing machine division in accordance with the ISO 14064-1 standard. The company performed a cross-validation process using bank statements, invoices and other materials and determined the sufficiency, authenticity and reliability of the data through site visits, data reporting audits from internal inventory and careful review of all emission sources.

Hisense Washing Machines has carried out a complete carbon footprint assessment of all the company’s departments and products by October 2023. The company has developed four strategic pathways to reduce CO₂: green management, green operations, green supply chain and green products. By developing innovative and sustainable technologies, Hisense provides consumers with energy-saving and high-quality products that help make the world greener.
