Lina’s mother and her lawyer had until now only been able to read the preliminary investigation, namely the elements discovered in the first week following the disappearance of the young girl. “The quality of the work of the investigators is in no way called into question in this case, Mrs. Groll knows that they are working hard to shed light on the causes of this disappearance and find her daughter,” added Me Airoldi.

The teenager disappeared on September 23 following leaving her home, in Plaine in Bas-Rhin, to go to the Saint-Blaise-la-Roche station, regarding three kilometers away, a journey on foot that ‘she used to do. Several searches were organized following his disappearance, but did not uncover any convincing clues. Water points were also probed, without result.

The investigation into his disappearance was first carried out by the Saverne public prosecutor’s office, which then transferred responsibility to the Strasbourg public prosecutor’s office. A judicial investigation was opened once morest X for “kidnapping and sequestration not followed by voluntary release of more than seven days”.

In its last communication on the case, on October 2, the Strasbourg public prosecutor’s office announced that the investigation was moving “towards long-term investigations under the authority of the two investigating magistrates in charge of the case, (…) no avenue being ruled out or favored”.

More recently, the gendarmes launched two calls for witnesses concerning a young man who was driving in a gray car. A new lead that might relaunch the investigation.

The lawyer indicated that he will hold a press conference this Friday, February 2, in the presence of Lina’s mother.
