His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, stressed that the wise leadership attaches the utmost importance to providing all means of comfort to citizens to ensure their social stability.

During his chairmanship of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council meeting, His Highness said that the integration, diversity and sustainability of projects will enhance the opportunities for development and prosperity by advancing the wheel of comprehensive development.

The meeting reviewed the most prominent developments in the progress of government work in the emirate, service plans and development initiatives, in addition to a number of projects that aim to meet the needs of citizens, improve living conditions through infrastructure development, and enhance the level and efficiency of services provided to members of society.

His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan approved the tourism sector strategy in the emirate, which aims to attract 39.3 million visitors, provide 178 thousand new job opportunities, and raise the sector’s contribution to the emirate’s non-oil gross domestic product to 90 billion dirhams by 2030, to consolidate Due to the emirate’s position as one of the fastest growing global destinations in tourism activity.

His Highness praised the efforts of the authorities concerned with the tourism sector in the emirate, which achieved positive results and indicators, and exceptional performance during the year 2023, as Abu Dhabi received regarding 24 million visitors, exceeding the number recorded in 2022 by 30 percent. This influx of tourists has contributed to significantly advancing the economic development of the emirate, as tourism contributed a value of 49 billion dirhams, and hotels recorded revenues worth 6.4 billion dirhams, an increase of 22 percent compared to the year 2022.

This remarkable growth constitutes clear evidence of the emirate’s rising position in the tourism sector at the global level, and lays a solid foundation for the objectives of the Tourism Strategy 2030. The strategy also presents Abu Dhabi’s vision to transform the social and economic landscape in the emirate based on sustainable development trends, in line with the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030, Which aims to develop talents and competencies in the tourism field, and enhance the sector’s role in supporting the economic growth of the emirate.

The approved strategy will continue to support and encourage private sector investments in the field of tourism development through a set of incentive initiatives and programmes, including facilitating and simplifying regulatory procedures for the sector. This strategy will also work to support sustainable tourism initiatives, rely on innovative means and solutions to enhance tourism services and diversify tourist attraction options, and other programs and plans that seek to ensure the growth of the tourism sector in Abu Dhabi in line with the economic ambitions of the emirate.

His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan also reviewed the progress of projects launched by the Abu Dhabi Center for Projects and Infrastructure in various priority sectors, most notably the housing sector and infrastructure in various regions of the emirate, stressing the importance of the combined efforts of all government agencies to build partnerships. A strategy with the private sector in order to continue developing and enhancing infrastructure projects in accordance with the highest standards, in a way that supports the achievement of an urban renaissance that contributes to ensuring greater prosperity and well-being for society, and advances the process of economic and social development towards broader horizons of progress and prosperity.
