His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi Chairs First Meeting of Kalba University’s Board of Trustees

Yesterday, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, President of Kalba University, chaired the first meeting of the University’s Board of Trustees.

At the beginning of the meeting, which was held at the university’s headquarters, His Highness welcomed the attendees, wishing them success. The Council discussed plans and strategies for the university’s work mechanism to ensure its progress and achieve its goals to become one of the distinguished and developed universities.

His Highness presented to the Council a package of directives that contribute to providing a stimulating and appropriate academic and training environment for students, in addition to investing in the university’s resources and developing academic programs in line with the emirate’s plans and the progress witnessed by the city of Kalba. Intensifying efforts for its development in various scientific and administrative fields.

During the meeting, His Highness approved increasing the financial support for the university’s budget, forming the main committees and recommending their presidents. During the meeting, the members of the Board of Trustees expressed their appreciation and gratitude to His Highness the President of the University for his interest and follow-up on everything related to the university.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, President of Kalba University, inaugurated, yesterday morning, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Kalba University, the latest scientific and academic institutions with which Sharjah supports its pioneering path in providing science and knowledge and qualifying community members in the fields all.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah stated that Kalba University will start with a number of colleges, namely the College of Law, the College of Business Administration, the College of Arts, Sciences, Information and Communication Technology, and the College of Mathematical Sciences.

His Highness said: Graduates of a bachelor’s program in physical education and sports sciences will be qualified to work in various fields to raise the level of sports, and the fields are: trainers in sports clubs and fitness centers, teachers of physical education in schools and universities, and teachers for the rehabilitation of male and female students with disabilities.

His Highness explained: Monash University in Australia was chosen to prepare and present physical education and sports science programs for the University of Kalba, due to the leadership and heritage of that university, as it is one of the oldest institutions of higher education internationally.

His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, indicated that the inauguration of Kalba University on September 7, 2023 marks the beginning of the celebrations for the opening of valuable projects in the city of Kalba, stressing that the university is the most expensive project that His Highness presents to Kalba over the coming months and years, and Kalba will be at the pinnacle of development and progress.

After that, His Highness, accompanied by the audience, toured the university’s corridors, getting acquainted with its various facilities, including classrooms and scientific and practical laboratories, which will contribute to providing the best sciences, knowledge and skills to university students.
