A Maritime Self-Defense Force man in Hiroshima Prefecture was arrested for breaking into a woman’s home in Shibushi City, Kagoshima Prefecture.
Eitaro Kubo (32), a member of the Maritime Self-Defense Force in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture, was arrested on suspicion of trespassing.
According to the Shibushi Police Station, Kubo is suspected of breaking into a house where a woman in her 40s lives in Shibushi City around 11:00 pm on the 22nd.
At that time, the woman was out and two family members remained at home.
When the police rushed to the scene, Kubo smelled of alcohol, and he stated that he had no memory of the investigation.
Suspect Kubo has no acquaintance with the woman or family, and the police are investigating the motive.
According to officials, Kubo was a crew member of the transport ship “Osumi” belonging to Kure, and was visiting Shibushi City at an event open to the public.
