“Hired Killer” opens the festival
The management of the Marrakesh International Film Festival revealed the opening film of the twentieth session, which is a comedy entitled “Hired Killer,” directed by Richard Linklater. The film mixes action and romantic comedy, starring Colin Powell.
The 20th edition of the Marrakesh Film Festival will be held between November 24 and December 2, and its list of festive screenings includes the film “I Am the Captain” by Italian director Matthew Carone, which is a contemporary epic regarding two Senegalese young men who aspire to reach Europe.
It will also screen “Memory” by Michel Franco, a moving film in which Jessica Chastain, head of the jury, plays a wonderful role.

The festive screenings will conclude with the movie “Making Off,” directed by Cedric Khan, which is a social comedy that shows the behind-the-scenes of cinematography, starring Jonathan Cohen.
The Moroccan festival displays a selection of international films, including 75 films from 36 countries, in the festival sections that include the official competition, festive screenings, special screenings, the eleventh continent, the panorama of Moroccan cinema, film screenings for emerging audiences, Jemaa El Fna Square screenings and films that It will be presented as part of the honors.
The official competition dedicated to the first and second feature films by its directors seeks to reveal new talents in world cinema.
