A luxury SUV has drawn attention in China with some features very similar to Tesla’s Model X, a very popular brand in the country, and which seems to have served as a reference. It is the HiPhi X, by Human Horizons, an electric vehicle launched in 2021, with dimensions and features similar to the Model X, with a futuristic footprint, but which draws attention due to some unusual technologies, such as a projector headlight, which can display symbols and animations on the asphalt.
Following the trend of artificial intelligence, the vehicle also features the HiPhiGo software, developed together with Microsoft, which offers level 3 autonomous driving. In terms of battery, there is 97 kWh, promising 650 km per charge. Going from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, the model is sold for something around R$ 120 thousand.
The news is that the model was certified by the German TÜV, which means that the model should reach more markets in Europe, such as the United Kingdom, an important country for Tesla. The Chinese automaker also plans to bring the HiPhi Z to the European market – a four-door coupe with the same set of engines used in the X, but with a 120 kWh battery, which extends autonomy to 705 km.
Without door handles, the roof of the HiPhi X opens even when the car is in motion at the press of a button or via the shortcut on the 19.9-inch screen in the cabin. The space SUV also has three rows of seats and can take up to five passengers, in addition to the driver.
